Experience the imposing architectural styles emblematic of economic prosperity. In 1900, the then small village of Jablonec nad Nisou exploded in size and importance to become one of the world leaders in glass manufacturing. The town hall, the churches and houses all point to this rapid period of economic confidence.

It took the small village of Jablonec only a few decades in the 19th Century to become a major glass manufacturing centre. Besides the impressive town hall and the Sacred Heart Church from 1931, there are several other outstanding residential buildings, all in the style of the »Neues Bauen«, the New Way of Building, by Heinrich Kulka and Heinrich Lauterbach. Down to the present day the town is characterised by the glass and jewellery industry; several small shops and businesses, but also a museum dedicated to glass making offer glassware of all kinds.
