Northtour

The former industrial Upper Lusatian region is enchanting with its richness of extraordinary architectural heritage. Take part in the tour in the footsteps of some of the region's most famous architects and designers, including works by Ernst Neufert, Hans Scharoun and Wilhelm Wagenfeld

Your journey through the north of Upper Lusatia will take you through a former industrial region. Not only the remaining production sites, but also the residences of the factory owners bear witness to the creative strength the entrepreneurs of that time had developed. The Topmomo information centre is located at the Schminke House (Haus Schminke), built in Löbau in 1933 by Hans Scharoun. You should not miss the guided tour through the house and the garden. The town of Bautzen warmly invites you to visit not only the town museum, but also the picturesque old town. The towns of Weißwasser and Niesky had their heyday as production sites of the Wilhelm Wagenfeld glass works and the timber and steel construction company Christoph & Unmack, both famous in their day. The glass museum and the large prototype home colonies even today hint at to the former charisma and sway of both towns.
